Katie Taylor has won her sixth European Championship gold medal this afternoon in Bucharest.
Taylor's tactics and performance were spot on as she defeated Estelle Mossely in the lightweight final.
The Frenchwoman was a tough opponent as she proved beating Taylor's Olympic final opponent Sofya Ochigava in the semi-final.
Try as she might though, she failed to win a single round against the Bray fighter who returns to Dublin tomorrow afternoon.
Speaking after the win Taylor admitted that she expected a tough battle.
"She's a top quality opponent and she showed that in the semi-final by beating Ochigava, I knew it was going to be such a close fight. I boxed her before, last year, and it was touch and go as well."
Taylor was quick to attribute her success to all of the team around her including her Dad and coach Peter and assistant coach Zaur Antia.
"We were spot on from those geniuses behind me, Dad and Zaur. We're so lucky to have some of the best coaches in the world working with us along with Billy Walsh as well."
