Super Sevilla their land sixth Europa League crown

Sevilla have won their sixth Europa League title and fourth since 2014 by beating Inter 3-2 in this evening's final in Cologne.

Brazilian defender Diego Carlos grabbed the winner in the 70th minute as the LaLiga side added to their record haul in the competition.

Romelu Lukaku had put Inter ahead from the penalty spot in the fifth-minute, with the former Manchester United striker scoring in his 11th successive Europa League game.

Sevilla, who came into the match on a 20 game unbeaten run, took the lead thanks to two stunning headed goals from Luuk de Jong in the 12th and 33rd minutes.

Veteran defender Diego Godin headed Inter level soon after but Carlos, who had given away that early penalty, proved to be the match winner for Julen Lopetegui's side with his overhead kick.

The victory represents some redemption for the former Spanish underage coach following his dismissal as Spain boss ahead of the 2108 World Cup and a swift sacking by Real Madrid following their poor start in 2018/19.
