Sligo won the Setanta Sports Cup for the very first time in their history today, after they beat Dundalk 1-0 at Tallagh Stadium.

Dundalk dominated for long spells, but never looked like breaking down a strong Sligo defence.
Horrendous conditions meant that neither side were able to play football for the final 20 minutes. Puddles quickly formed on the surface, and Dundalk were forced to abandon their quick passing game.
Sligo will hope to take this momentum into the SSE Airtricity League where they currently find themselves in sixth place.
