Six Scotland players disciplined after 'post-match matter'

Six Scotland players have been disciplined after breaching team protocols last week.

It's reported that captain Stuart Hogg is among the group.

Six players are said to have left the team hotel in Edinburgh to attend a bar after returning from their Six Nations win over Italy in Rome.

Finn Russell - who has been dropped for Saturday's meeting with Ireland - was also involved.

Ali Price, Darcy Graham, Sam Johnson and Sione Tuipulpotu make up the group.

Hogg, Graham, Johnson and Price are all set to start in Saturday's game at the Aviva Stadium.

"The Scotland management team have this week dealt with a post-match matter involving six players following the game against Italy last weekend," the Scottish Rugby Union said in a statement.

"The players involved have been spoken to individually and those conversations and outcomes will remain private.

"Preparations for the match against Ireland this week have been good and the whole squad is fully focused on achieving a positive result on Saturday."

Ireland will win the Triple Crown if they can beat the Scots tomorrow.

A win for Andy Farrell's side will also put pressure on France to secure victory against England in order to win the Championship title.
