Sarah Lavin and Sean Tobin have both clocked personal bests in advancing from their heats at the European Indoor Championships.
Tipperary's Tobin's ran a lifetime best of 7:47.71 in finishing fifth in his 3,000 metres heat this morning and qualified for tomorrow's final as one of the fastest losers.
Limerick sprinter Lavin registered a personal best 8:06 in placing third in her heat and she'll have a semi-final on Sunday afternoon.

John Travers (8:05.96), and Brian Fay (7:56.13) didn't progress from their 3,000 metres heats earlier while there was no joy for Leon Reid, Dean Adams or Israel Olatunde in the 60 metres heats.
Ex Commonwealth Games medal winner Reid ran 6.75 in placing fifth in his hear, European Championships debutant Olatunde was fourth in 6.79 while Adams clocked 6.89 in finishing seventh.
Nadia Power has her women's 800 metres semi-final this evening while Mark English and Cian McPhillips are in men's semis.
Cork's Phil Healy goes in the 400 metres final at 7.25 pm, Irish time.
