Marco Reus says he's delighted that Jadon Sancho will remain at Borussia Dortmund for another season and has backed his teammate to become one of the best players in the world.
The England winger has been linked with a 100-million Euro move to Manchester United throughout the transfer window but Dortmund insist they won't be letting their star player leave until at least next summer.
The German side had set a deadline of August 10th for any potential move for Sancho and United are unlikely to be able to secure a deal before the window closes next week.
"For us players that was great news," Reus told Sky Germany. "We all were happy that he will be with us for the season.
"Also because he delivers scorer points for the team. Goals, assists - in the end that translates to a lot of points.
"He is an essential player for us. If he will be as great of a player as Ronaldo and time will tell. He needs a little bit of time, many experiences.
"There will surely be phases in his career where things will not go as smoothly as now, and we will see how he is going to deal with something like that. But I believe that he has the confidence and of course the quality to do that."
