St. Pat's have it all to do against Sligo Rovers if they want a place in this year's Setanta Sports Cup final. The Saints lost 2-0 at the Showgrounds in the first leg of their semi-final. Danny North struck twice for the home side and the Bit O' Red also missed plenty of excellent goal-scoring chances as Pat's rarely challenged and to make matters worse Liam Buckley's side had James Chambers sent off mid-way through the second period for a second bookable offence.
Aaron Greene set up North at the edge of the area for the opener with 17 minutes played and it was his first goal against his former club and his third of the season. The home side put the first leg beyond doubt with a minute left when North claimed his second as he placed the ball between the legs of substitute keeper Brendan Clarke and Clarke did well to deny North his hat-trick four minutes into injury time seconds before keeping out John Russell seconds later. The second leg takes place at Richmond Park on 14 April.
