The future is bright for the Boys in Green, according to assistant manager Roy Keane.

Ireland have had a great start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, taking 7 points from a possible 9.

That includes the dramatic draw against Germany last week in Gelsenkirchen.

Keane was speaking at the Eason promotion event for his new book, “The Second Half” last night.

And the Irish assistant boss says Ireland have enough young quality players coming through to keep improving.

Keane has also praised Ireland’s fighting spirit in that epic draw away to Germany last week.

Martin O’Neill’s men were put under huge pressure by the World Champions in the game, before coming away from the game with a point after a dramatic late equaliser from John O'Shea.

Keane says he was delighted the team never gave up

The former Manchester United captain also responded to the criticism from the RTE panel after the Germany tie.

John Giles, Liam Brady & Eamon Dunphy weren’t happy with how O’Neill and Keane set out the side for the game.

But the Irish Number Two responded to those comments in typical Keano fashion

Next up for Ireland is the qualifier away to Scotland.

And Keane says the team will need the same fighting spirit they showed against Germany.

He also says it’ll be a huge game and could be crucial if Ireland are to qualify for France 2016
