Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez appears to have announced a break from football.
A post on the player's verified Facebook page last night read: "After the last consultation with many doctors, I've decided to stay away from football."
The Algerian went on to say his time as a player had come to an end before thanking the club.
He went on strike in January after failing to secure a move to Manchester City on deadline day - the club fined him two weeks wages at the time for going AWOL.
Mahrez has since returned to the squad, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth last week in the Premier League.
Reports suggest the player's facebook was hacked, neither he nor the club have confirmed this.
Off The Ball has contacted Leicester City for comment and are awaiting the club's response.
