Liverpool have moved level on points with West Ham in fourth spot after picking up a 3-2 win away to QPR.
Simon Mignolet was forced into some good first half saves from Sandro and Charlie Austin as Liverpool failed to get a footing in the game.
Leroy Fer then smashed the ball off the crossbar for Rangers as the home side started piling on the pressure.
The Reds though, broke the deadlock as Richard Dunne turned the ball into his own goal.
Substitute Eduardo Vargas headed home the eqiuilizer with just three minute to go.
QPR then went in search of a winner, and looked more likely to claim the three points.
But the Reds took a 2-1 lead in the 90th minute through a Coutinho strike, but Vargas scored his, and QPR's second in the 93rd minute to make it 2-2.
But incredibly, an own goal from Steven Caulker in the 95th minute gave the Reds all three points.
Real Madrid representatives were believed to be at Loftus Road ahead of their meeting with the Reds on Wednesday. And they won't be too fearful after today's display.
