Marcus Rashford is prepared to whatever it takes to make sure he's available for Manchester United ’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.

United's top scorer this season is a major doubt for Sunday’s Premier League clash after suffering a back injury during the FA Cup win over Wolves on Wednesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that his decision to use Rashford as a substitute had "backfired" after the striker sustained the injury within 15 minutes of coming off the bench.

The Mirror is reporting that the England international is undergoing intensive treatment to make sure he can start against United's bitter rivals.

However, United may not risk him the 22-year-old in case the does more damage to his back, which could rule him out for even longer.

Speaking about the injury, Solskjaer said: "He’s had trouble with the back lately but that is a different matter. Now we’ve got a different one.

"We’ll do everything we can to see and try to get him fit for Sunday, but I can’t promise. We’ll manage."

If Rashford isn't passed fit to play at Anfield, it would be a huge blow for United. The 22-year-old has given Liverpool problems in the past and scored when the two sides drew 1-1 at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Rashford was also on target twice in a 2-1 win for United against Liverpool in 2018. United's best chance of getting a result against Jurgen Klopp's side is to hit them on the break and Rashford is key to that.

Liverpool have won every home game in the Premier League this season and you have to go back to April 2017 for their last home defeat in the top-flight.

That is what faces United this weekend so they could really do with their top scorer if they want to become the first team since January 2019 to beat Liverpool in the league.
