The Premier League is expected to approve changes that will see the summer transfer window end before the start of the season.
The current window closes on August 31st, more than two weeks after the start of the domestic league season.
According to reports, representatives from the 20 Premier clubs will vote to move the deadline to the week before the 2018-19 season begins.
This season is already underway - and plenty of sides are dealing with uncertainty around the future of some of their best players.
14 out of 20 clubs would need to back a change when the chairmen of the clubs meet on September 7th, if the vote passes it could be put in place as early as next year.
