Philly McMahon believes Jim Gavin might be forced to resort to the age old process of elimination of ‘Eeny, meeny, miny, moe’ to pick his Dublin team to face Tyrone in the All Ireland SFC semi-final.
Diarmuid Connolly is back in the frame after serving a suspension. Paul Flynn and Michael Daragh Macauley are also back to full fitness after coming on as subs in the last game.
McMahon believes the manager faces an unenviable task.
“Diarmuid has been off doing his own programme and is available for selection the next day, I’m sure that gives the management a huge headache in picking the team.
“You nearly do an ‘Eeny, meeny, miny, moe’ with the players that we have a t the minute, huge strength in the squad.
“The management are going to have a tough job picking the team for the next day; any player that’ll be picked will have a huge amount of motivation to keep that jersey if we win.
“But you can’t really think that far it’s about getting everything done right now in training to make sure you get that jersey first.
“It’s frustrating missing any games and I’ve been there this year with an injury against Westmeath, missed that game, you just want to get on the pitch, get back training, start doing the things that’ll get you that jersey.”
