Petra Kvitova has been injured in a knife attack at her home in the Czech Republic.
The two-time Wimbledon champion has been treated by doctors, after suffering a hand injury during an attempted burglary earlier this morning.
Her spokesperson Karel Tejkal says that the burglary hadn’t targeted her specifically.
"It was a random criminal act. She was assaulted in her apartment and is in the care of doctors, but her injuries are not life threatening.”
Kvitova has tweeted her thanks for messages of support following the incident- and says she is “fortunate to be alive”.
