Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira is set to become the new Crystal Palace manager.
The Athletic is reporting that the Premier League club will appoint the former World Cup-winning midfielder with France in the coming days.
Palace have been on the lookout for a replacement for Roy Hodgson since the end of last season and had looked set to bring in Lucien Favre but the forrmer Borussia Dortmund boss said he wanted a longer break from football.
Vieira was relieved of his duties at Ligue 1 club Nice in December of last year and has been working as a pundit for ITV at the European Championship.
The 45-year-old also had a spell with MLS outfit New York City and is now preparing for his first Premier League job.
Palace want to have a new manager in place by next Monday when the players return to pre-season training.
Vieira played more than 300 games in the Premier League with the majority of them coming for Arsenal, while he also had a spell with Manchester City.
