The high attendance for the All Ireland Ladies football final last year was one of the positives for the sport.

But with any domain, there is always a way to go to fully effect change.

Kerry footballer Aislinn Desmond highlighted some of the basics in regards to facilities when she spoke to Joe.

"Often times there wouldn't be showers. Like, I remember for one Munster final, it was down in Cork and it was absolutely roasting the same day and at half time, there was no water in the pitch," she recalled.

"We were parched. You wouldn't get that in the men's game - there's no way."

She added that on that occasion "there was no water in the dressing room" either.

"But that was the first time winning Munster," she said in the sense of finding a way to overcome that logistical nightmare.

Water and showers are not the only frustrating issues that can sometimes crop up.

"For a league game, yeah, there mightn't be a scoreboard," Desmond said, adding that it's "often" the case that they could be playing in those circumstances without having an accurate idea of what the current scores are.

But on the positives, she does feel "Ladies football is getting more promotion now that they're doing the double headers and things".
