It was a summer to remember for the Irish national hockey team as they returned from the 2018 Women's World Cup with silver medals.
Having been rank outsiders before the tournament, it was quite the achievement to make it all the way to the World Cup final.
But while it took place in the heat of summer in London, the Irish team ended up adopting a Christmas song as their go-to tune.
Namely, 'Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas'.

Irish hockey international Nicci Daly was part of Off The Bench's panel at Liberty Insurance at Blanchardstown on Tuesday and told presenter Cliona Foley what the story was behind the adopting of the song as well as how music superstar ended up giving the team a shout-out having somehow become aware of how they had put their own spin on her Christmas classic.
