Olympic silver medallist John Joe Nevin made a winning start to his professional career last night with a win over Albert Candalaria in Boston. The Mullingar man beat the Puerto Rican in a six round bout in the House of Blues in Boston, winning 59-55 on points.
Nevin said after the win " The reception was unbelievable, it means so much to me to win on my professional debut on St Patrick’s Day."
