One of the biggest sponsorships in Irish sport has just been clinched.
Cricket Ireland have nabbed a multi million euro sponsorship believed to be around 2.5 million euro for the naming rights to their new Academy.
The Indian business conglomerate Shapoorji Pallongi have signed a 10 year sponsorship deal for the Shapoorji Pallonji Cricket Ireland Academy.
The owners are the Mistry family who are an Irish family based in Mumbai whose patriarch is the world's 103rd richest man.
And Pallongi Mistry fell in love with a women from Hatch Street in Dublin whom he subsequently married.
An immediate benefit of the sponsorship will be the travelling to Sri Lanka next year of 22 members of the Academy to attend a specialist performance spin camp.
