Lionel Messi has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks because of a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old limped off in Sunday's win over Real Betis and has a muscle tear in his left hamstring.
It's the Argentinian's second muscle injury, after hurting his thigh against Almeria in September.
A Barcelona statement read: "The club's medical services confirmed that Leo Messi has a torn hamstring muscle in his left thigh and is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks.
"The first phase of Messi's recovery will be covered in Barcelona and he will then travel to Buenos Aires."
There is a positive for Celtic fans however, as Messi will now miss their Champions League clash on December 11th.
