Paul McShane has been ruled out for the rest of the Premier League season after picking up a serious ankle ligament injury while playing against Southampton on Tuesday night.
The Hull defender had been in fine form under Steve Bruce, and had been watched by Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill with a possible call up to the Irish squad on the cards.
It was confirmed today that the centre half picked up a fracture to the ankle as well as significant ligament damage.
The 28 year old will undergo surgery on Monday, and is expected to miss six months of action.
