Ireland international Paul McShane could be ruled out for several weeks after suffering an ankle injury in last night's Premier League defeat to Southampton. McShane was stretchered off during the first half at the KC Stadium when he collided with Hull goalkeeper Steve Harper after only 12 minutes.
Hull boss Steve Bruce said: " Paul has had x-rays and they revealed no break. But if you saw the incident like I did, the video evidence doesn’t look great and his ankle was in a horrible position, so we fear ligament damage and as we know, ligament damage can sometimes be worse than a break.
Until we see the scans on Wednesday, we won’t know but his ankle is huge at the moment and it doesn’t look good. "
McShane's almost certain to miss Ireland's friendly with Serbia at the Aviva on March 5th with Martin O’Neill due to name his squad for that game tomorrow week.
