It was a good night for the Dublin clubs in the Setanta Sports Cup last night. Defending champions Shamrock Rovers hammered Glentoran 5-1 at Tallaght Stadium in the first leg of their quarter final. Former Irish International Stephen McPhail scored a free kick on his debut while Robert Bayly, Kieran Waters, Gary McCabe and Simon Madden were also on target.
League of Ireland champions St Pat's were 1-0 winners away to Ballinamallard United - Chris Forrester scored the goal for the Saints. Sligo Rovers are on course for a place in the semi-finals thanks to a 4-1 win away to Crusaders. But there was disappointment for Dundalk who lost 3-2 at home to Coleraine.
