Former Irish International Stephen McPhail has signed for Shamrock Rovers.
McPhail's contract finishes with Sheffield Wednesday this week and will join up with the Hoops next Week.
The midfielder has previously played with Cardiff City, Leeds United, and Barnsley.
The 34 year old has signed a one year deal with an option to extend.
Hoops boss, Trevor Croly said: “Stephen is a very good addition to our squad for the up-coming season. He is a quality player who has significant experience playing at a very high level. He will fit in well to the squad we have built for the new season and blends in well with the mix of youth, experience and talent we have put together. He is proven to have a strong, committed character and is very keen to come and do well here well at Shamrock Rovers.”
With Keith Fahey returning to St. Pats, and Cliff Byrne signing for Derry City, it has been an exciting off season for the League of Ireland so far.
