Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell have been kept apart as a pairing for the European Ryder Cup team's first practice this morning.
Both teams have their first full day's practice at Gleneagles today.
And European Captain Paul McGinley has kept the Irish pair apart.
McIlroy's going out with Martin Kaymer and Sergio Garcia, with GMac partnering Henrik Stenson and Victor Dubuisson for the practice.
That could give an indication of McGinley's thinking ahead of the tournament getting underway proper on Friday.
There has been talk of a feud between McIlroy and GMac, due to an ongoing court case with McIlroy's former management company, which also represents McDowell.
But McGinley says any decision to separate them would be nothing to do with that.
"Both of them have assured me all along that there are no issues and that's the way I've always seen it," McGinley said.
"Three or four months ago, I had a very strong view that they would have been, but the more I look at their statistics and the more I look at the different value I have with them, I'm thinking there may be value in not doing it.
"If I don't decide to play them, it would be for tactical reasons. They have played six Ryder Cup matches and they have only won two together. It's not like these guys are written in stone. They are not a formidable fourball pairing that's unbeatable.
