Martin O'Neill Defends Keane Over "Distraction" Claims

Cyrus Christie and David McGoldrick will make their international debuts for Ireland this evening.

The Boys in Green take on the USA at the Aviva tonight in an international friendly.

The pair will be among several changes expected to be made to the side that started against Scotland last Friday.

The likes of Daryl Murphy, Alex Pearce and Robbie Brady are also expected to get game time.

Meanwhile, boss Martin O’Neill’s defended his assistant Roy Keane, over accusations he’s become a “distraction” in the Ireland camp.

It comes after the alleged altercation with a fan at the team hotel last Wednesday and also his criticisms of both Everton and Jack Grealish at the weekend.

But O’Neill says Keane has been “terrific” for him:
