Manchester United have been fined €10,000 for breaching UEFA anti-doping regualtions while UEFA has also dished out a two-match ban to defender Phil Jones.
Jones and team-mate Daley Blind have also been fined €5,000 each, for incidents following the club's Europa League final win against Ajax.
Jones was charged by European football's governing body for "insulting and directing abusive language towards the Doping Control Officer, as well as for a lack of cooperation and respect towards the doping control procedure."
The two-match ban rules the centre-half out of the Super Cup clash with Real Madrid on August 8 as well as the club's first Champions League outing this season.
It is understood that Jones was angered by the official's decision not to allow him pose for a photo with the team in the dressing room after the game.
Blind was charged for "violation and non-compliance" of the regulation which states that “every player designated to undergo as doping control is personally responsible for reporting immediately to the doping control station as notified."
UEFA say the decision is open to appeal.
Meanwhile today, United announced the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea for a fee worth €45 million, with the midfielder agreeing to a three-year contract.
The Serbia international is the third major signing by manager Jose Mourinho, following the acquisitions of striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton and former Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
