Dubliner Robbie Brady scored and assisted a goal for Hull last night, but that still wasn't enough, as they fell to a 3-2 defeat away to West Brom.
Tottenham came from behind to beat Championship leaders Nottingham Forest 3-1 at White Hart Lane.
Newcastle needed extra-time to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Selhurst Park.
And Brighton beat Burton Albion 3-nil.
Meanwhile, the draw for the next round was made last night after the games.
There will be three all-Premier League ties.
Liverpool will host Swansea at Anfield.
Manchester City will welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad and Stoke will clash with Southampton.
Elsewhere, Chelsea will travel to face League Two side Shrewsbury Town.
Spurs will host Brighton.
West Brom are away to Bournemouth
