Wigan Athletic and Manchester City have been slapped with an FA charge for failing to control their players during the League One side's shock FA Cup fifth round win last night at the DW Stadium.
There was a melee between both sets of players after the Premier League leaders had Fabian Delph sent off late in the first half for a challenge on Latics midfielder Max Power.
Referee Anthony Taylor was surrounded on the pitch as he produced the red card while host boss Paul Cook and counterpart Paul Cook clashed on the sideline and again in the tunnel at half-time.
Both clubs have been asked for their thoughts on the pitch invasion at the end of the game in which City striker Sergio Aguero had an altercation with a fan.
It is understood that City are considering legal action after the Argentina international claimed that he was verbally abused and spat on.
