Malky Mackay has been sacked by Cardiff City.
The inevitable has finally happened after chairman Vincent Tan issued an ultimatum last week - resign or be sacked.
The Scot had worked wonders getting the Bluebirds promoted from the Championship last season and getting them into the Premier League for the first time in their history and into the top flight for for the first time in 53 years.
The brittleness of their squad has been revealed with just one win in their last eight games and Mackay stated three new players were needed in the January transfer window.
Chairman Tan responded by saying Mackay had overspent in the summer and that not a penny would be made available.
Man U legend the Norwegian Champions League winner Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already been installed as the favourite.
