Romelu Lukaku has reportedly completed a medical in Milan ahead of a €115million switch from Inter to Chelsea.
The Belgian striker is now poised to return to Stamford Bridge seven years after leaving for Everton in a deal worth quarter that of what Chelsea are now paying.
Lukaku's return would also appear to end Chelsea's interest in signing Harry Kane from Tottenham.
Since joining Inter from Manchester United, Lukaku has turned his career around scoring 64 goals in 95 games and helping the Nerazzurri win their first Scudetto in eleven seasons.
Despite their success, Inter are strapped for cash. Their financial situation contributed to the departure of head coach Antonio Conte and the €60million sale of Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite some fan protests, Lukaku will become the latest big name to depart the San Siro and, with Spurs monitory Lautaro Martinez's situation, he may not be the last.
Roma striker Edin Dzeko is the most likely candidate to replace Lukaku at Inter.
Chelsea have been relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer, and Lukaku would represent their first major piece of business and their most expensive signing ever.
Both Kai Havertz and Kepa Arrizabalaga have previously cost €85million.
Chelsea's season begins on Wednesday with their UEFA Super Cup clash with Villareal at Belfast's Windsor Park. Their pre-season build-up has taken place in Carton House.
