Brilliant rounds of 69 and 67 by Shane Lowry at Walton Heath this afternoon were more than enough to see him qualify for the US Open.
Fresh from his runner-up finish in the Players Championship at Wentworth, the Offaly native finished on 8 under par at the qualifiers in Surrey for the second major championship of the year.
Sadly it wasn't to be for three-time major winner Padraig Harrington.
The Dubliner's second round at Walton Heath was his 16th round in 14 days and he admitted he was feeling extremely tired.
As he fought to keep his eyes open he shot rounds of 75 and 71 which left him on 2 over par and out of contention.
It's just the second time Harrington has had to play in qualifier for a major and it will be the first time he has missed the US Open since his debut there in 2000.
