Louis van Gaal said that he will step down as Dutch coach after this Summer's World Cup, and that he is looking for a new challenge.
Having already worked in the Eredivisie, La Liga and the Bundesliga, the 62 year old is eager to test himself in the Premier League.
He was strongly linked with the Tottenham job after Andre Villas-Boas' was dismissed, but saw the White Hart Lane reins handed to rookie coach Tim Sherwood on an 18-month deal.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss is ruling nothing out, though, and is leaving the door open to an approach from north London.
"I will definitely not be in charge for the Euro 2016 qualification campaign. I don't know where I will go next," van Gaal is quoted by the Guardian.
"Normally I go with my pension and go to live in Portugal, but maybe there will come a new challenge.
"I have said before that a challenge should be a club in the Premier League. That's a challenge.
"Maybe Tottenham are coming but, first, we have to go to Brazil."
