Liverpool needed a dramatic penalty shootout win last night to edge past Middlesbrough into the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and 2-2 after extra time at Anfield.
Liverpool took the lead early on thanks to 17 year old debutant Jordan Rossiter.
Boro equalised when Adam Reach headed in in the second half, as the game went to extra time.
Suso then gave the Reds the lead in extra time, but Patrick Bamford then struck a last-minute spot-kick to level the game again.
The sides then needed 30 penalties to be separated.
Patrick Bamford and Raheem Sterling each missed one of their team's first five penalties in the shootout.
That meant the game went to sudden death.
Suso converted his penalty for Liverpool to make it 14-13, before Boro's Albert Adomah missed his crucial spot kick, to finally send Liverpool through.
The shootout result equals the record in England.
Arsenal, meanwhile, were knocked out of the league cup by Southampton.
The Gunners took the lead thanks to a stunning free kick from Alexis Sanchez.
But the Saints equalised from the penalty spot.
And then Nathanial Clyne hit a cracking winner, as Southampton claimed a 2-1 win at the Emirates.
It means Arsene Wenger will have to continue his wait to win the league cup.
It's the only domestic trophy he hasn't won in England.
Everton are also out, after going down 3-0 away to Swansea.
Stoke City beat last season’s runners up Sunderland 2-1.
And elsewhere, Bournemouth beat Cardiff 3-0, Derby were 2-0 winners over Reading, Norwich suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to Shrewsbury Town, the MK Dons continued their good cup run with a 2-0 win over Bradford City, Sheffield United beat Leyton Orient 1-0 and Fulham edged out Doncaster 2-1.
