Egypt international winger Mohamed Salah has finally become a Red after completing his transfer from Serie A club Roma.
Liverpool have not confirmed the fee but it is reported to be in the region of €40 million and just short of the club's record transfer fee, which - at today's exchange rates, is about €1 million more.
“I will give 100 per cent and give everything for the club. I really want to win something for this club," Salah told the club's website.
“We have a great team and very good players. I was watching the games last year and everyone was giving 100 per cent to win something.
“Everyone can see the coach gives everything. I hope to see that together we can give everything to win something for the club, for the supporters and for us.”
The former Chelsea midfielder has signed a five-year deal at Anfield which will commence on July 1st.
The Blues snatched Salah from under Liverpool's nose in 2014 when they signed him from Swiss outfit FC Basel but he only made six Premier League starts with the Pensioners.
He had loan spells with Fiorentina and Roma before signing with the latter on a permanent basis last August where he scored 15 goals in 31 league appearances, which clearly impressed his new manager Jurgen Klopp.
“Mohamed has the perfect mix of experience and potential – this is a really exciting signing for us. He knows the Premier League, he has pedigree in the Champions League and he is one of the most important players for his country.
“His record in Italy has been outstanding and he possesses qualities that will enhance our team and squad. I have followed him since he emerged at Basel and he has matured into a really good player."
He's the second new signing for the Merseysiders this summer, following 19-year-old striker Dominic Solanke's capture from Chelsea.
