Liverpool boosted by Henderson return for Atletico Madrid clash

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is set to fit for tomorrow night's Champions League last-16 second leg with Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

The England midfielder hasn't played since picking up a hamstring injury in the Premier League leaders' 1-0 loss in the first leg last month.

"Hendo is ready but if we do that, I don't know...or maybe I know and I don't say!" said manager Jurgen Klopp, who also confirmed that goalkeeper Allison remains sidelined with a hip issue.

Andy Robertson is available to play after missing their weekend win over Bournemouth.

The Liverpool boss is hopeful that the Anfield crowd can play a part as the defending champions look to turn things around:

"Our crowd will be our advantage and we have to use it with the performance on the pitch. It has to be exceptional because they defend deep and have counter-attack threat.

"Each player can be dangerous. Set-pieces, an experienced team. They know how to deal with it all.

It's half time for us. We use that normally in a critical way. Second half we learn from situations and improve.

"This time we had three weeks, not 15 mins. We want to use that time. It is much clearer than before. Couple of advantages they had are now there for us."
