The Bulmers Live at Leopardstown series continues this Thursday evening with seven races on offer and an enormous €262,000 up for grabs.
The evening’s main event is the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Nasrullah' Handicap at 7.20. This €100,000 Premier Handicap is run over 1m2fs and will be contested between a field of 12.
Dublin trainer Adrian McGuinness will be hoping that his 7-year-old veteran Aussie Valentine can continue his newfound lease of life, after winning two on the bounce at Tipperary and Leopardstown last month.
Aidan O’Brien’s Lucius Tiberius was a recent winner at the Curragh over this distance, and O’Brien will be aiming to land the valuable prize with this son of Camelot, the sire of Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby hero Latrobe.
Jessica Harrington’s The King went desperately close on his latest start at Navan being just denied by a neck, and Harrington will be hopeful that Colm O’Donoghue can get the best out of the 3-year-old colt on the big stage.
Elsewhere, the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Stanerra Stakes takes place at 7.50 over a mile and three quarters.
Jim Bolger’s Cimeara was runner-up her last Leopardstown outing and this step up in trip could potentially see an improved display from the chestnut filly.
Joseph O’Brien’s hopes rest upon Detailed, a 4-year-old daughter of Motivator. This filly was beaten well by Order of St. George on her last outing to Leopardstown, however with four previous wins under her belt, she is not one to discount.
Racing gets underway at Leopardstown at 5.40pm and the going is currently good-to-firm with watering to take place.
