Leicester City have completed the signing of Wesley Fofana from Saint Etienne.
The 19-year old centre-back has cost the Premier League side €35million, making him the Ligue 1 side's most lucrative ever sale.
That fee could eventually reach €40million depending on various add-ons.
The 19-year old has signed a five-year contract at the King Power, and is Brendan Rodgers' third signing of the window.
Fofana follows the arrivals of Cengiz Under (Roma, loan) and Timothy Castagne (Atalanta, €24m).
The 6'3" defender has only ever made 29 appearances for Les Verts since his senior debut in 2019. However, his displays have been enough to see him courted by European sides and earn a France U21 call-up.
"I’m very happy to be here," Fofana told LCFC.co.uk, "I’ve watched Leicester City closely since they won the title and they’re a top club in the Premier League.
"I know I will learn a lot from the players and the manager here, which is one of the main reasons I came. I can’t wait to get started."
Rodgers has hailed Fofana as a "brilliant signing", adding, "We said at the start of the window that we wanted quality.
"And obviously as we draw towards the end of the window I think the three players that we've signed is that.
"And that's a huge compliment to Lee Congerton, our head of recruitment, and his staff because they've been monitoring these players for a long time and there's a lot of great work, and a lot of hard work, and persistence that's gone in to getting these players.
"He's [Fofana] a 19-year old with limited experience, as such, but when you see him play he looks like he's played for a lot longer.
"He's the type I like - he's very aggressive in his defending, he's super quick, and in the British game he's good in the air. He's got a fantastic leap and you've got to have that when you play in this country.
"We're really excited about developing his talent, and along with the other players it's been a really good window for us."
