Kerry defender Jonathan Lyne has called time on this nine-year inter-county career with the Kingdom.

An All-Ireland Senior Football winner in 2014, the Killarney Legion club man scored two-points from the bench in their semi-final replay victory over Mayo that summer.

Lyne featured regularly for Kerry in the League in 2020 but didn't see game-time in their Munster Senior Football semi-final loss to rivals Cork.

"The right time has come for me to finish up my Kerry journey and retire," the 30-year-old posted on social media.

"It has been a true honour to represent my family, friends, club and Kerry people.

"I'm looking forward to supporting the lads just like these 3 legends that I lost this year always supported me. #CiarraíAbú".

Kerry GAA have thanked Lyne for his "commitment", describing the half-back as an "excellent ambassador".
