Finland head-coach Markku Kanerva says his team are aware that the Republic of Ireland will be looking to avenge last month's loss in Dublin when the sides meet in the Nations League tomorrow.

The hosts, who are already qualified for next summer's Euros, have bounced back from their opening night loss to Wales to register wins against Ireland and Bulgaria and sit second in Group 4 of League B.

"We got a great result against Bulgaria, having been disappointed with the defeat against Poland," Kanverva said of their 2-0 victory over Bulgaria in Helsinki on Sunday night.

"We played pretty well, in my opinion and tomorrow night we want to continue like that. We know that Ireland will be a tough opponent. We managed to get a win in Dublin and of course they'll want to get some revenge."

Norwich striker Teemi Pukki will be hoping to score his first international goal since last November and he says it's vital for Finland to build on a recent spell of good results.

"It's an important game for us, we've started quite well in the group and we got a good result against Ireland away and we want to keep working and get another good result tomorrow."
