The Republic of Ireland squad will down a number of players when they set off for New York on Wednesday for their friendlies against Costa Rica and Portugal. The squad will have one final training session on home soil this morning before they fly out to the US. Martin O'Neill's already excused John O'Shea, Seamus Coleman and Damien Delaney while Ciaran Clark's ruled out with a knee injury. Wes Hoolahan and David Meyler sat out training yesterday - Anthony Pilkington was limited to gym work. All three are expected to travel but Jon Walters is a doubt due to a stomach bug. Stephen Ward won't be available for Friday's game with Costa Rica game but he could re-join the squad for the Portugal friendly on June 10th.
