The Republic of Ireland lost to Serbia by two goals to one in this friendly international at the Aviva Stadium.
It was manager Martin O'Neill's first defeat in his third match in charge of Ireland after a win over Latvia and a draw in Poland.
Ireland went in at the interval leading by a goal to nil but the Serbians came out in the second half with all guns blazing and fired home a couple of straightshooters.
Irish midfielder James McCarthy was unfortunate to put through his own goal in the 48th minute after a fast moving Serbian move down the left flank although there was more than a hint of a foul in the build up.
But it was Serbia who grew stronger and they notched the winner on the hour mark with centre forward Filip Djordjevic scuffing home from close range.
Ireland had taken the lead in only the 8th minute with Shane Long deftly chipping over the keeper after a Marc Wilson long ball had led to a mishit Branislav Ivanovic backpass.
In truth, Ireland should have scored more. But Wes Hoolahan - who was cautioned in the second half - had a perfectly good goal incorrectly ruled offside and Long should have done better when clean through on two occasions than shooting straight at the keeper and chipping wide respectively.
