Conor McGregor has spoken to the media one week out from his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather.
The Dubliner steps into the ring for the first time on August 26th in Las Vegas against the undefeated Mayweather.
Speaking to themaclife.com, McGregor says preparations have been perfect ahead of fight night "Ive taken this very seriously, no stone has been left unturned from the nutrition, cardio side, rounds to the rule-set. I'm a true professional."
McGregor had originally built his own training facility in Las Vegas, but eventually moved his training camp to the UFC's Performance Institute.
The 29 year old had this reasoning for the change "The UFC have been very accommodating to me, originally I had my own gym built. Then we came to this facility and loved it - realized why be away when all this is here. Essentially I am representing the UFC."
Training in the lead up to the bout was overshadowed by a very public falling out with sparring partner and former two weight champion Paulie Malignaggi, but Conor paid no head to the spat saying "The setup has been absolutely perfect. We're ready to go and put on the performance of my lifetime. Ready to go change the face of the fight game once again."
On Mayweather's decision not to bring in any mixed martial artists for his training camp McGregor said there would be no one capable of replicating his style "What other mixed martial artist is there like me? He'd need to reincarnate Bruce Lee, that would be the only person he could bring in that could mimic me and the way I'm coming at him. I'm not like any other mixed martial artist, I'm not like any boxer. I'm in a league of my own.
