Danny Rogers thought the news of his Ireland call-up was a case of his agent taking the mickey, he revealed on Now That's What I Call Sport.
Rogers' form for Scottish Championship side Falkirk caught the attention of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill, who has now opted to bring in the Dubliner for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Georgia.
The 22 year old says he found out the great news via a phone call from his agent which he took during training, although he was not convinced by the announcement at first "I didn't believe him, I thought he was taking the mickey out of me!
Eventually, he started to come around to the fact he would represent the boys in green on at senior international level.
"A lot of people thought it was a typo on the internet, but thankfully it wasn't. I'm delighted."
Danny also said he feels "ready" to play for the senior team if needed, and what Boyzone number he'll be singing in front of the squad.
