Tottenham captain Harry Kane continued his return from a hamstring injury by taking part in training on the eve of the Champions League last 16-second leg with RB Leipzig.

Kane has not featured since he sustained the injury during the New Year’s Day defeat away to at Southampton.

It was a positive sight for Jose Mourinho, who has missed his main striker badly over the last few weeks.

The club is yet to confirm an exact date for his return but last week Kane told the Evening Standard last week that he is hoping to back in action early next month.

"In my head, I am definitely at the Euros. Unless something pretty drastic happens between now and then, I'll be there.

"I'm still not back training with the first team, but I'm working hard in the gym, I'm getting stronger all the time.

"We're talking a few more weeks, and I'll be playing again. I don't want to make a prediction for which game I might be back, but I am hoping somewhere between the start and the middle of April."

The first part of Tottenham's training session was open to the media and one notable absentee was Steven Bergwign.

The January signing limped off the pitch after the 1-1 draw with Burnley on Saturday due to an ankle injury.

Mourinho said after the game at Turf Moor that he didn't intend on playing Bergwign for 90 minutes but was forced to change things with his side trailing at half-time.
