The man known as 'God' on Merseyside has no doubts over Steven Gerrard's ability to adapt to his new role.
Recently, Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has asked the legendary skipper to play a much deeper role in the Liverpool midfield. Fowler told 98FM he's been keeping a close eye.
"Brendan's got him doing a slightly different job where he's sitting and maybe pulling the strings a little bit more as opposed to just bombing on."
The former striker insists that Gerrard will always put the team first.
"I've got no qualms about Steven's attitude, it's spot on. He will do what's right for the team, he will play wherever he's asked and no matter where plays, he will do a job."
The Toxteth man was coy regarding Liverpool's title chances this season, pointing to their thin squad in comparison with the other clubs near the top but feels the Reds have other advantages.
"You look at the other teams in the top four, they're all playing two games a week with the Champions League and that works in Liverpool's favour. It'll be tough and it'll be tough for the other teams to stay there as well. Liverpool's squad is not as big but potentially, they're in with a shout."
Fowler was in Dublin promoting two big Liverpool games available only on the Setanta Sports Pack.
