Gerrard Offered New Liverpool Deal

Liverpool have offered captain Steven Gerrard a new contract.

His current deal runs out at the end of the season.

And there had been speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield, with Major League Soccer sides New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy reportedly interested in signing him.

There has been some criticism of the 34-year-old's performances this campaign, with many citing his displays as contributing to Liverpool’s poor form this season.

He was left out of the starting eleven for their weekend win over Stoke, but denied reports of a rift with manager Brendan Rodgers.

The details of Gerrard’s contract offer are not known, but it’s thought it is only a 1 year contract and could involve a pay cut.

Rodgers says the player is mulling over the new deal.
