The GAA could end their agreement with Ticketmaster if the outlet do not take steps to cut out ticket touting.
The association confirmed that it was cancelling a number of tickets for the All Ireland Football semi-final clash between Dublin and Tyrone.
It’s after they appeared on ticketmaster owned resale site, Seatwave. Tickets in all areas of the stadium were being sold above face value.
The GAA’s Director of Communications Alan Milton said described the actions of Seatwave as outrageous: “Interest in the game has been phenomenal.
"But far more concerning from our perspective has been the development which has seen tickets end up on Seatwave, which is a new development. This hasn't happened before.
"Hill 16 tickets €30 were going for between €65 and €95. Stand tickets that cost €45 ordinarily were on sale for between €95 and €189."
“There’s no other way to describe this other than ordinary punters are being fleeced, there were ordinary decent GAA supporters queuing outside Dorset Street on Tuesday morning for tickets.
“I don’t see why a platform such as this or individuals should be able to profit on the back of those people or indeed on the back of our games. It’s simply wrong, it’s outrageous.
“It’s very disappointing that this pattern of behaviour has switched from concerts to sporting events of course it’s not just the GAA.
“But we’re duty bound to step forward and to take a stance on behalf of our members and anything we can do we will do.”
