The Republic of Ireland earned a tremendous one all draw with the world champions Germany in this European Championship qualifier at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
And the man of the moment was the evergreen John O'Shea who celebrated his 100th cap for Ireland in sensational fashion!
With the match slipping away from Ireland and the game entering it's 94th minute, up popped O'Shea to slot home the equaliser.
Aiden McGeady slipped the ball to substitute Wes Hoolahan who whipped over a cross which was adroitly knocked by another sub Jeff Hendrick into the path of O'Shea who flicked home for his third goal for his country.
It was just reward for a battling last 20 minutes by the Irish which saw plenty of style and eventually substance.
Germany had taken the lead with the run of play in the 71st minute when Toni Kroos cracked home a long range effort which entered the back of the net via the inside of the near post.
The home side had plenty of other efforts but the inspirational David Forde pulled off excellent saves from Julian Draxler twice, Lukas Podolski and Kroos.
There were two yellow cards for Ireland with Glenn Whelan and Marc Wilson booked for fouls on Kroos and Mario Gotze.
Ireland are joint top of the group with Poland on seven points from three games in front of Germany who have six points.
