France and Switzerland have confirmed their places in the second round of the World Cup.
France played out a scoreless draw with Ecuador last night to seal their place in the last 16.
The French were almost assured of progressing to the next round, with only a huge loss likely to stop them from going through, while a win for Ecuador would have given them a real chance of making the last 16.
Despite goal chances for either side, the game ended without a goal.
Ecuador played most of the second half with 10 men, after Manchester United's Antonio Valencia was sent-off.
France finish top of Group E and will take on Nigeria in the second round.
Meanwhile, Xherdan Shaqiri netted a hat-trick as Switzerland beat Honduras 3-0 to reach the last 16 of the World Cup.
The win secures second place in Group E for the Swiss and they will take on Argentina in the next round.
